George Virgil Fulp was the cashier at The Bank of Kernersville, the town's
first bank, when it opened for business on Jan. 1, 1903. Kernersville's first
telephone company operated on the bank's 2nd floor and he was one of its
original incorporators. He and his sons Willard, George and Paul played an
important role in the development of the bank into a sound financial
institution.
