HOPKINS
Funeral services are pending for Eleanor Connell Hopkins, 1300 N. Canal St. Mrs. Hopkins died in her home on Friday. She was 88.
Born June 11, 1902, in Taylor, Texas, Mrs. Hopkins was raised and educated in Midland, Texas. She attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and was a teacher in Carrizozo, N.M.
She married the late Barney Q. Hopkins, Sr. in 1940. They farmed south of Carlsbad and operated Barney's Place on South Canal Street. Mr. Hopkins died in 1963.
Mrs. Hopkins made her home in Carlsbad and Ruidoso and had been a resident of Lakeview Christian Home since 1979.
She attended First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter, 54. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by one daughter, Frances Mozelle Miller of Plano, Texas, and two grandchildren.
West Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
HOPKINS
Services for Eleanor Connell Hopkins, 88, 1300 N. Canal St., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the West Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Gene Harbaugh of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. There also will be an Eastern Star Service in the chapel.
Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Mrs. Hopkins died Friday at Guadalupe Medical Center.
Visitation Tuesday will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Elmer Benson, Robert White, L.B. Worley,
Mertin Beams and Tommy Martin.
