AN OLD SETTLER GONE

On last Saturday night Mr. J. N. B. Bowen, who has been sick for several months, passed away.

Mr. Bowen was one of the early settlers of Lucas County, and has lived in this county off and on for the past thirty-seven years.

During that time he removed to Missouri, where he lived for a few years, and again about six years ago he removed to Kansas and returned to Lucas County last summer.

He was born in Indiana in 1822 and at his death was 69 years, 6 months and 5 days of age. He was a member of the Christian Church and his remains were buried from that church on Monday, the funeral sermon being preached by Rev. Lingenfelter and the services under the auspices of the I.O.O.F.

He leaves a widow and three sons, two of whom, I. N. and H. L. resided in this county and George, who resides in Arizona and two daughters who reside in Kansas, to mourn his loss.
