Mr. Clarkson was a resident of 14 W. Elm Street, Chicago, IL when he died at Orange General Hospital in Orlando, Florida, where he'd been two days, of pneumonia and heart disease. He had been in the Orlando area three months.
He was a portrait painter.
His father was Joseph T Clarkson, of Mass.
Informant of record was E.R. Willson, of 13 S. Oak Street, Hinsdale, ILL
Mr. Clarkson was cremated and ashes sent to Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT.

Funeral services for Ralph Clarkson, 81, Winter visitor here for the last four years, world renowned portrait painter who died Sunday evening at a local hospital after a short illness, will be held when the Carey Hand Funeral Home can locate relatives of the deceased man.
Clarkson was borin in 1861 in Amesbury, Mass., and settled in Chicago in 1896. He had studied art in many countries in Europe and married Fanny Rose Calhoun of Hartford, Conn., in 1890.
He had been president of the Chicago Municipal Art Commission; member of the American Art Jury to the Paris Exposition in 1900; governing member of Art Institute of Chicago.
He was the founder of the Friends of American Art, member of the advisory committee of the Tiffany Foundation of New York, and American Association of Portrait Painters.
Mr. Clarkson maintained a Summer home in Oregon, Ill., and a studio at 410 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago. He had only been ill two days before he died.
