Maria Ynez Mendez, 76-year-old native Yuman died yesterday at the Yuma County Hospital, it was announced today at the Johnson Mortuary. Interment will take place at Potholes Cemetery, near Laguna Dam at 2 p.m.
Born in Yuma April 20, 1882 she lived here all of her life. Surviving are three sons, Saturnino, Frank and Ramon, all of Yuma; three daughters, Esperanza Vasquez of Calexico; Ruth Orta and Adela Orta, both of Yuma; four sisters, Carolina Pina of Winterhaven, Atanasia Gonzales of Yuma; Concepcion Lopez of Winterhaven, and Juaquina Munoz of Yuma; 45 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.
