Doyle Henry Richey, 86 of Comanche, Texas, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Mesa Springs Nursing Home in Abilene, Texas.
He was born on February 11, 1924, in Comanche, Texas, to the late Robert Richey and Hattie (Mayfield) Richey. He graduated from Abilene Christian College. He married Lorah Smith on December 9, 1950 in Abilene, Texas. He was employed for 26 years as an accountant at Higginbotham Bros. and Co. At the time of his retirement from Higginbotham Bros. and Co. he was serving as Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Rebecca Richey of Denver, CO; son and daughter-in-law James and Trish Richey of Tool, TX; son and daughter-in-law David and Connie Richey of Schwenksville, PA; daughter and son-in-law Cyndy and Mike Fischer of Abilene, TX; eight grandchildren, Kelley Richey, Jennifer Hawes, Brandon Fischer, Nikki House, Kayla Ikeard, Tyrel Richey, Brian Richey and Sarah Richey; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Richey of Granbury, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Williams of CA and Edith Arrotta of CA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorah, two brothers, Wilburn and Bertis; two sisters, Odessa Burton and Arlene Mengle.
Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Gerald Stockstill officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche County, with Comanche Funeral Home in Charge of Arrangements.
Lunch for the family will be 12 Noon at the Pearl Street Church of Christ.
