A serious automobile-motorcycle crash occurred in the borough last Wednesday morning. William Clevenger of Ayr Township, with his son, Charles, at the wheel, was travelling east in his automobile. At the Ford garage, Charles made a left turn and a westbound motorcycle crashed into the car. Nick Summers of Knobsville, the driver of the cycle, and his mother, Mrs. George Summers, were riding on the machine. The crash threw both the cycle riders from the machine, Mrs. Summers going through the windshield of the car. She was the more seriously injured, receiving a compound fracture of the right ankle, fracture of the left arm, severe lacerations and possible fractures of the skull and pelvis. Nick received a multiple fracture of the left femur and a broken left arm. Damage to the Clevenger car was estimated at $50, while the motorcycle was completely demolished.
