OLD TOWN - Anny E. Godin, 82, dear mother and grandmother, died peacefully Dec. 10, 2010, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. She was born Nov. 6, 1928, in Wiesbaden, Germany, daughter of Emil and Johanna (Mitter) Albrecht. Anny was a war bride, having met her husband Joe during his deployment in the U.S. Air Force to Germany during World War II. She returned with him to the U.S. and was in such awe of all the amenities available, going to night school to learn English and becoming a legal U.S. citizen.
She is survived by three children, Therese Godin, Dianne Everett and her husband, Tom, and Tommy Godin; four grandchildren, Stacey, Donny, Jeremy and Josh; Josh's mom, Michelle; No. 3 daughter, Debbie; sisters-in-law, Doris and Bernice; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; her parents; and brother, Max.
Spring burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Bangor Daily News 12/13/2010)
