Mrs. Bert Baker died Friday morning at Lincoln, Nebraska and the body was brought to Villisca for interment, arriving here Sunday morning on No. 6.
Jessie Mae Underwood was born in Bedford, Iowa September 6, 1879 and was 47 years of age at the her death. She was married to Bert R. Baker on October 17, 1901 and to them eight children were born, five of whom survive. They are Ella, 19 years of age, Floyd, 10, Hazel, 13, Elmer, 10, and Donald 5. Besides the husband and children, she leaves also the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ella Harrington, Charles, Will, and Pearl H. Underwood of Bedford, Alvin Underwood of Los Angeles and Dan Underwood of Morton Mills.
Mrs Baker had resided at Lincoln twenty-two years. The body was accompanied here by the husband and children, and was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Coy, uncle and aunt of the deceased to await the funeral which was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Advent Christian Church with Elder S. H. Coleman, assisted by Elder J. F. Hurlbut in charge of the service. The pallbearers were Frank Thompson, J. F. Prather, Frank Doan, S. A. Bixler, C. A. Penwell, and Harold Peters and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
