Francis M. GOODWIN died at his home in Highland Township, Saturday, April 12, 1902 at 2:30 p.m. The deceased was born October 20, 1857, being at the time of his death 44 years, 6 months and 18 {23} days old. He was married to Martha E. OSBORN February 20, 1880. To this union were born two sons and three daughters—Lona BARGE, of Smith Township, Lettie MILLER, Lebert C., Lucien B. and Leona May GOODWIN. All survive.

He leaves his wife, children, one brother and a host of friends and neighbors to mourn their loss. He had been a constant sufferer for nearly five months, but he bore his sufferings patiently to the last. He was conscious to the very last.

He professed a hope in Christ in 1883. Two years later he united with the M. P. church at Pleasant Ridge. Later he moved his membership to the General Baptist at Concord, and lived a faithful Christian life.

The funeral exercises were conducted b the Rev. Henry FLORY at the church Monday morning. The remains were laid to rest in the Tulip cemetery, where a large crow of relatives, neighbors and friends gathered to show their sympathy and witness the interment. B.
