MISS LUELLA YINGLING DIES

With Her Surviving Sister She Was A Matron at Bible College Home for Aged

Miss Luella E. Yingling, 76, died Monday morning at 6:30 o'clock at the Old Peoples Home of the Bible college. The deceased and her sister, Miss Della Yingling, had been matrons at the home for 33 years. Miss Yingling had been in failing health for a year and was bedfast since December 19. She is survived by her sister, a niece, Mrs. Trees of near Waterloo, a nephew who lives in Red Oak, and other relatives in Pennsylvania. Many friends of Miss Yingling in the city extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved sister and other relatives. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Biblical College church and burial will be in the Biblical college cemetery.

FUNERAL MISS YINGLING HELD IN WEST BOONE

Deceased Served Faithfully in Several Capacities at Boone Biblical College Here

Funeral services for the late Miss Luella Yingling were held at 3:00 p.m., January 11 at the Biblical college church in West Boone. Funeral sermon was by Pastor Walter Berggren of Polk City. Miss Mina B. Green read a portion of scripture and led in prayer.

Brief tributes were given by Miss Faye Jones, Pastor Christie Swain and Pastor Loyal Wilkinson. In place of the usual obituary, Miss Lois Crawford read a brief biography. Misses Opal Hartung and Florence Temple sang "To the Work," "Underneath Are the Everlasting Arms" and "How Firm a Foundation," being accompanied by Mrs. Albin Mathson. As the mourners were leaving the church, Miss Hartung sang "Asleep in Jesus." At the grave in the Biblical College cemetery, Mrs. Clara Edvendson and Mrs. Lillie Berggren sang "Christ is Coming." Pallbearers were Milford Olson, Lloyd Mitchell, John Heckert, R. A. Dennert, Floyd Newbrough and Fred Hoff.

Life Sketch

Miss Luella E. Yingling, daughter of Abraham and Esther Yingling, was born November 10, 1862, in Blair county, Pennsylvania. She attended the public schools at Altoona, Pa., and graduated from the high school in 1881.

In January, 1883, she began to teach in the public schools and continued to teach for a period of twenty years. In August, 1905, she came with her sister, Deella, to Boone, Iowa to assist the late Pastor J. C. Crawford in opening a Bible school, now known as the Boone Biblical College. She served faithfully as a teacher in the Bible department and as senior matron of the old people's home for over 30 years.

She was confined to her bed December 16, 1938 and went to be with the Lord January 9, 1939. She was well known in Boone and will be missed by many of her friends and students. She is survived by her sister, Miss Della Yingling of Boone, Iowa, a niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Treese of LaPorte City, Ia., and other relatives.

Luella E. Yingling, a former resident and teacher in the local schools, died in Boone, Iowa, last Monday.

Born near Newry, November 10, 1862, she was a daughter of Abraham and Esther Yingling. The family became residents of this city shortly after her birth.

In 1904, Miss Yingling and her sister, Della, moved from Altoona to Boone, Iowa, where they have been teaching in the Boone Biblical College.

Members of the family include two sisters, Mrs. Martha Dill of Altoona and Miss Della K. of Boone, Iowa. Interment was in the Boone Biblical College Cemetery Wednesday.
