PATTERSON, ALBERT MANSFIELD
Albert Mansfield Patterson was born September 10, 1866 at Cascade,(Dubuque Co.) Iowa, and departed this life March 15, 1945, at the age of 78 yrs six months and five days. He came to Kansas in 1900 and to Butler County October 1900, where he spent the rest of his life as a farmer.
He became a member of the Methodist church early in life. He was married to Lillie Harris September, 8, 1898 at Little Blue, Mo. To this union were born 11 children, one son preceded him in death, Francis Lee, who did Feb 17, 1942.
He had been in failing health for several years but not till January did he become inactive and was seriously ill for several weeks but was able to be up and about when he became quite ill again on Sunday and on Thursday evening ,he passed quietly away, conscious to the last. he was a rugged and
very active of pioneer stock.He was devoted to his home and family. He was quite gifted musically and loved to laugh. No matter how ill he could always see something to laugh about.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie; four daughters, Constance Urban of the home, Lillie Opperman and Alberta Dagel of Augusta, Lovey Boucher of Wichita; six sons, Loy of Inglewood, Calif, Ryle of Sacramento, Calif, Clive and Ross of Wichita, Fay of Van Nuys, Calif and Clare of Augusta; 15 grand- children, the oldest, Verl Dagel, is with the infantry in Europe.
The service was held at the Dunsford Funeral Home on Monday afternoon in chaxge of Rev Alfred H Tebben, pastor of the Augusta Methodist church. Mrs David Peebler sang " When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "There Is A Land That Is Fairer Than Day".
Interment was made in the Elmwood cemetery.
The family has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community In their loss.
A precious one from us is gone, A Voice we loved is still.
