Mrs. Argie Lee Bennett Mercer, 88, died Monday night at the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center, Brunswick, after a short illness.
She was a Ware County native and resided here most of her life. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Her husband was the late Marvin L. Mercer and her parents were the late Thomas M. and Minnie Simmons Bennett.
She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Kermit Lawrence (Edna) of Brunswick; a son, Thomas M. Mercer of Manor; two sisters, Laura Carter and Annie Spikes, both of Waycross; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Music Funeral Home chapel. with burial in the Hargraves Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
