News From Monroe
Union, March 15. - After an illness of a long while, Mrs. Frances Shanklin, of Union, widow of the late Mr. Jabez Shanklin, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds, near Fort Spring, where she was spending the winter, last Saturday morning, March 8, at 5 o'clock. Her death was due to heart disease and hardening of the arteries. She was a Miss Pitzer before marriage and was born in Lynchburg.

Mrs. Frances Shanklin, died March 8th, at the home of a daughter, near Fort Spring, aged 76 years. She was a resident of Monroe County for practically her entire life, and was a sister of Mrs. R. H. and W. M. Pitzer, of Creamery; and mother of Mrs. May Huffman, of Alderson.
