Elizabeth B. Roberts, 93, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Lane County Long Term Care in Dighton.

The daughter of Ross Spencer and Elsie Gladys (Coberly) Bentley, she was born on Oct. 15, 1917. She and Carlos Roberts were married on Aug. 11, 1940 at Valhalla. He died on April 25, 1990.


Mrs. Roberts was a local, district and conference officer of the United Methodist Women and a member of the United Methodist Church of Dighton. She attended Fort Hays State Teachers College and taught for four years in rural Gove County. She and her husband lived on their farm north of Shields until she moved to Dighton in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Wendell Bentley; a sister, Evelyn Ewing; and a foster brother, Iver Tokoi.

Surviving are three sons, Marvin and Carl Roberts, both of Shields, and Allen Roberts of Buckley, Wash.; two daughters, Ellen McCue of Wichita and Vada Winger of Sublette; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services was at the United Methodist Church of Dighton. Burial was in Dighton Memorial Cemetery
