Christopher was the son of James Lee Hayden & Catherine Gibbs. He married Susan Mary Pierceall on 6 February 1853 & they had 9 children. During the Civil War he fought as Confederate Private in Porters Regiment. He was captured 6 October 1862 sent to St Louis MO 27 December 1862. He did time in Alton, Illinois at Gratiot Federal Military Prison as a Confederate Prisoner.
