Joseph Clay Bryan was the son of Joseph and Rebecca Dewees Bryan. He died after falling through the rotted bottom of a river boat in South Carolina and drowning. His body was brought back to his family home, the Mock Orange Plantation, where is is buried next to his monther and father.

Gravesite Details

The gravesite is in poor condition with some of the stones being broken or damaged by roots. In 2019, the new owner of Mock Orange decided to restore the markers and the grounds.3
