Irene S. Blatny, 85, of Macedonia, Iowa, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Oakland Manor in Oakland, Iowa.

Survivors include: her children, Sharon Husz (and husband, Curtis) of Carson, Iowa, Eileen Vendetti of De Funiak Springs, Fla., Robert Blatny (and wife, Donna) of Carson, Diane Adams (and husband, Terry) of Red Oak, Iowa, and David Blatny (and wife, Deb) of Carson; brothers, Melvin Kavan (and wife, Dorothy) and Donald Kavan (and wife, Karen), all of Morse Bluff, and Norman Kavan of Colon; sisters, Delores Nitz (and husband, Jack) of Fremont and Nancy Williams (and husband, James) of Cedar Bluffs; sister-in-law, Agnes Kavan of Colon; brother-in-law, Bernard Blatny of Macedonia; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Blatny, in 2006.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hertz Funeral Home in Carson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, west of Cedar Bluffs.
