Kathryn "Kitty" Abel, 71, went to be with the Lord Dec. 7, 2002. Kitty was born June 18, 1931, in Pueblo to Edwin and Elizabeth Varley, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her sister, Beth Pryor. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James A. Abel; son, James E. (Roanna) Abel; daughters, Carol (Randy) Dent and Annette (David) Morris, all of Pueblo. Kitty was a 1949 graduate of Centennial High School, lifelong member of Ascension Episcopal Church, Junior League of Pueblo and Rosemount Museum Auxillary. She worked at Pueblo Hallmark Stores. Kitty devoted many years doing volunteer work and teaching Sunday school. She was always an extremely loving and dedicated wife, mother and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Ascension Episcopal Church, 18th and Grand, with the Rev. Dr. Ephraim Radner officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Ascension Episcopal Church Columbarium. In lieu of food and flowers, memorials may be made to Cooperative Care Center or Ascension Episcopal Church, through the funeral home.
