Maurice J. Rogers, 80, of Middleville, died Thursday, June 18, 1996, at home.
He was born July 12, 1916, in Convis Township to Ernest and Lulu (Chapman).
He graduated from Bellevue High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He was employed at H.B. Sherman Co Eaton Corp. and Mel Barton Construction Co., retiring in 1978. He wintered in Sebring, Fla.
He married Beatrice A. Buxton on Oct 9, 1940. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Daryl Rogers of Grand Rapids; daughters, Noralee Rhodes of Hastings and Anne Dempsey of Jonesville; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Vernon Rogers of Battle Creek; and sisters, Marie Pilot of San Diego, Calif, and Lois Elfring of Marshall
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Rogers; and a grandson, Joshua John Rogers.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Girrbach Funeral Home, Hastings, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Vaught officiating. Burial: Union Cemetery
