Dolly was born on December 4, 1935, in Macon Georgia to the late Robert and Minnie [Woodall] Newberry and had lived here in Lake City since 1990. She was a devoted & loving wife, mother, granny, great granny and friend who loved drawing, bird watching, and growing flowers in her garden, but her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family. Dolly loved the Lord and was of Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James David Robert Newberry, grandson, Wesley Robert Cowart and her beloved husband of 49 years Gene Moye Darley.
Survivors include her five children, Robert Darley of Lake City, FL, Evelyn (Earl) Searcy of Lake City, FL, Cathy (Carleton) Seymour of Jacksonville, FL, Vivian Darley & John Rowe of Lake City, FL, Daniel (Michelle) Darley of Stafford, VA; sisters, Gloria Newberry-Padgett and May Newberry Corley of Dayton/Highlands, TX; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Johns officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
