Adelaide was from Camden and married future Philadelphia mayor J. Hampton Moore on January 16, 1889. They had children: Clayton, Dorff, Edward, Harvey, Mark, Sevena, Julia, and Richard. Adelaide believed it was a woman's duty to raise children which allowed her husband to concentrate on his political career. She was active in the formation of the Congressional Club in 1908 which was chartered by Congress to foster bipartisan friendships between spouses of members of Congress, the President's cabinet, and the Supreme Court. She was also involved in many boards and organizations.
