Abernathy Child Died Following Short Illness

James Hassell Abernathy, eighteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Hassell Abernathy, died at their home at two o'clock Tuesday morning following an illness of ten days. The child had been quite ill several days when other complications set in to hasten the death of the child. The deceased was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy.

The funeral service was held from the home near Buffalo at three o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. J. F. Sturdivant, pastor of the LaFayette Methodist church, officiating. Robinson & Cutler, undertakers, were in charge.

Burial was held at Mount Hickory church at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Surviving the deceased are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hassel Abernathy, and a number of friends and relatives.
