Roy Brooksher, Jr. of Alex, Oklahoma was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma on January 6th, 1947 to Roy Brooksher, Sr. and Geneva (Palmer) Brooksher. He married Julie Ellithorp on June 4th, 1971 at Alex Southern Baptist Chapel in Alex, Oklahoma. Roy passed from this life on December 5th, 2010 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 63. Roy lived all of his life in Alex, Oklahoma. He graduated from Alex High School in 1964 and from Oklahoma State University in 1970. Roy worked in the garage with his father after graduation until 1990. He worked for Page Thurston until 1993. At that time, he started his own cattle trading business which was his true passion. Roy was a member of the church of Christ. He loved riding his four-wheeler and taking his grandkids on rides on his tractor. Although cattle trading was his job, it was also his hobby. Roy loved attending anything involving his grandchildren. Mr. Brooksher was preceded in death by his father, Roy Brooksher, Sr., his maternal grandparents, Clayburn and Alta Palmer and his paternal grandparents, Samuel Avil and Ova Brooksher. Funeral services for Mr. Brooksher are set for two o'clock p.m. on Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at the Southern Baptist Church in Alex, Oklahoma with Rev. Don Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow at Alex Cemetery. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
