She was born September 27, 1919, in Sheboygan County, a daughter of the late August and Julia Steffes Hau.
On December 29, 1945, she married Edmund A. Anders of Fond du Lac WI in St. Cloud.
Margaret and Ed owned and operated the Sinclair Service Station on the corner of Fifth and Main Streets and later established Anders Auto Parts, which they operated until their retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, St. Francis Home Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Council #664 Auxiliary,
She enjoyed her family, baking, cooking, bowling, walking, gardening, and playing cards. Margaret enjoyed volunteering for Loaves and Fishes and St. Agnes Hospital, and being a member of the "Holy Dusters".
Survivors include three daughters, Jane (John) Schuppe and Phyllis (Rick) Brink all of Fond du Lac, and Clare (Steve) Jones of Winneconne; three sons Charles (Ann) Anders, and Mark (Robin) Anders all of Fond du Lac, and Don (Barb) Anders of Germantown; 16 grandchildren, Dan (Deena) Schuppe, Kate Schuppe, Jeff (Jessie) Schuppe and Lauren (Gilpin Matthews) Schuppe, Chris Brink, Sandie Brink and Nancy Brink, Taylor Schlemme, Tom (Catherine) Anders, Lynn (Peter Kohloff) Anders, and Robert Anders, Kelly (Jim) Krause, Tony Anders and Ashley Anders, Nick (Megan) Anders and Adam (Lisa) Anders; and six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Wilma Smedberg, Rose Sippel, one brother, Roger (Ann) Hau, seven sisters-in-law, Delores Hau, Marge Hau and Joan Hau, Marion Anders, Alieta (Albert) Feucht, Viola (Ervin) Gonnering, Leona Lord, and one brother-in-law, David (Kris) Anders.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edmund, on March 14, 2007; brothers, Albert (Marge) Hau, Gregor Hau, Richard Hau, Ervin (Laura) Hau, Joseph Hau; sisters, Aurelia (Bruno Olig) Jones, Gertrude (Claude) Wimberger, Josepha (Miles) Phalen; brothers-in-law, Francis Sippel, Carl Smedberg, Harold (Eva) Anders, Roman (Marie) Anders, and Franklin Lord.
Visitation: On Friday, December 10, 2010 from 2:15 p.m. until 4:15 p.m., the family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Family Parish Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 10, in Holy Family Parish Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery on Saturday morning at 10:00.
In Lieu of flowers memorials in her name may be directed to the St. Francis Home Foundation, 33 Everett Street Fond du Lac, 54935, for their employees or to Holy Family Parish Building Fund, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, 54937.
