Mr. Leverenz was born on February 7, 1866 in Wisconsin, receiving his early education there. He lived at Gordon, Nebraska for a time where he worked as a blacksmith. He was married to Mrs. Annie Holtgren on October 17, 1916, at Rushville, Nebraska. The couple came to Oregon in 1920 settling in Corvallis where Mr. Leverenz opened a blacksmith shop. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge and member of the Presbyterian Church of Newport.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Leverenz; one sister, Mrs. Emma Peterman of Oklahoma; two sons, W.J. Leverenz and Irvin Leverenz of California; two daughters, Mrs. Allen Strong, Gordon, Nebraska; Mrs. Ted Ayres of Gottenberg, Nebraska; nine grand-children and five great grandchildren.
