Mr. Leonard Bradsher "L.B." Moorefield

SNOW CAMP - Mr. Leonard Bradsher "L. B." Moorefield, 76, of 6603 Coble Mill Road, Snow Camp, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Person County, he was the husband of 57 years to Shirley Grigg Moorefield and son of the late Cabbell Jeff Moorefield and Bessie Lloyd Moorefield. He was retired from AT & T and was a tobacco farmer. L.B. was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Never meeting a stranger as he walked this earth, he enjoyed nature, hard work, and found great joy in planting and harvesting from the ground. L.B. was a man who touched and blessed all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving other than his wife of the home are three sons, Rickey Moorefield and wife Lisa of Clinton, N.C., Roger Moorefield and wife Patricia of Snow Camp, and Jeff Moorefield and wife Katrina of Snow Camp; eight grandchildren, Caroline M. Niles and husband Jason, Devin Moorefield, Ryan Kimrey and wife Jaime, Zach Kimrey, Dallon Moorefield, Daniel Moorefield, Scarlett Moorefield and Holden Moorefield; and two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Gabe, and soon-to-be-born baby boy Jackson; two brothers, Lindsey Moorefield of Snow Camp and Bailey Moorefield and wife Johnnie of Burlington; mother-in-law, Mrs. Eva Isley; two sisters-in-law, Anna K. Moorefield, and Linda Fogleman both of Burlington; three brothers-in-law, Carl E. Councilman, Butch Isley and wife Glenda all of Burlington and Marvin Grigg of California.

L.B. was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma M. Martin, Billie M. Alexander and Edith M. Councilman; and a brother, C.D. "Joe" Moorefield.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Kenny Black and the Rev. Carlton Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6-8 p.m., Friday evening and other times at the residence of a son, Jeff and Katrina Moorefield, 6633 Coble Mill Road, Snow Camp.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Marshall Anderson and the staff of ARMC for their care and kindness during L.B.'s illness.
