Shirley Jean was born in Sparta, Wisconsin on May 26, 1928, to Julius and Myrtle (Sadd) Baumbach. She was raised and educated in the area. They later moved to the Lansing, Iowa where she graduated from high school. Shirley was united in marriage to Curtis Evelyn Olson in 1947. Three children were born to this union Ronald, Dennis, and Debra. They were later divorced. Shirley was united in marriage to Paul Logan on June 5, 1977. Together they resided in Quasqueton until returning to Manchester in 2004. Paul died April 7, 2005. Shirley had worked over the years at C & S TV, Manchester Bowling Alley, Al & Norma's Café and twenty-seven years at the Good Neighbor Home. Shirley died suddenly Friday morning, July 22, 2005 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was seventy-seven years of age. Shirley will be remembered as one who enjoyed antiques, bowling, and cooking. Survivors include her two sons, Ronald (Jane) Olson of Manchester, and Dennis (Ramona) Olson of Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Debra Massingham of Wichita, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren; and twentyone great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Logan; her parents; three brothers, Alvin, Harold, and Jerry Baumbach; and twin grandchildren Jessica and Jeremy Massingham
