She first married Obediah Mitchell on October 3, 1844 in Pike County, Illinois. They had two daughters. Mary Elizabeth married to Henry C Mikesell and Margaret Jane married to John L Sawyer.
Then on November 2, 1848 she married Clark Potter Beebe in Pike County, Illinois. They had six children, Gerome Bonaparte, Sylorna (died as an infant), Jacob S, John Cole, Marcellas Clark, and Catherine Cadela Beebe.
Clark was killed in action at Hartville, Wright County, Missouri on January 11, 1863. He was with Co K, 99th Illinois Infantry Regiment.
Matilda died of tetanus on September 5, 1865 in Adams County, Illinois.
