Budd Lake, New Jersey — Catherine Jo McDonald passed away Dec. 2, 2010 at Saint Clare's Hospital, Denville, New Jersey.
She was born Feb. 6, 1952 in Peoria , Illinois to Chester W. and Betty R. Holdson. She was raised in La Porte, Indiana and graduated from La Porte High School 1970. She attended Indiana University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois Benedictine University.
After college, Cathy worked for Bell Labs, Western Electric and AT&T as a security consultant.
During her Bell career, she completed work assignments in Holland, Portugal and Spain. Her last assignment was with AT&T in New Jersey. After her AT&T career, she worked for the Department of the Army, as a contract specialist, at the Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. She was employed in this position at the time of her death.
Cathy is survived by her sister Caren Herald and husband David, of Anderson, Indiana; her stepmother, Mary Louise Holdson of La Porte, Indiana; her step-father, Jack Poole of St. Petersburg, Florida; and three step-sisters and two step-brothers. Also surviving are three nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews. Additionally, Cathy is survived by her special friend, Harold Buck of Budd Lake, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Betty Holdson.
A celebration of Cathy's life was held Dec. 7, 2010 at Kennedy's of Budd Lake. A private burial of Cathy's remains will be held in the spring at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Indiana. She will be interred next to her father.
