(CARROLLTON. GA) Billy Merrell, 71, of Carrollton, GA, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010.
He was born Nov. 14, 1939 in Whitesburg, GA,
to the late James Merrell and Inez Phillips Merrell. Mr. Merrell worked as a mechanic for the city of Carrollton for 18 years and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Perry Merrell, and a sister, Ada Merrell Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Stapler Merrell; children and spouses, Michael and Tessy Merrell, Delta, Wayne and Sandy Merrell, Bremen, GA, Teresa and Daniel Lambert of Carrollton and Van Merrell, Wedowee, AL; sister, Beatrice Merrell Foster, Trenton, GA; brothers, Benjamin Merrell and Harold Merrell, Carrollton and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Robertson and Bro. Benjamin Merrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Gary Harris officiating.
Pallbearers will be Roger Merrell, Byron Merrell, Terry Slone, Jamey Merrell, Donnie Fortson and J.D. Fortson.
