Barbara Laudine Maness, 71, of Sheffield, Ala., formerly of Rock Island, died Dec. 26, 2007, at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1828 Broadway Blvd., Florence, Ala. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those wishing to attend should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Ala., and Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, are assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to aid in the fight against heart disease and diabetes.
Survivors include three children, Kathleen Steinke, Sheffield, Teresa Maness, Rock Island, and Derek Maness, Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Joshua (Anna), Trevor and Jesse Steinke, Sheffield, and Spencer Mar, Rock Island; great-grandchild, Alan, Sheffield; sister, Sammie Adam; and loving friends and family everywhere.
