Daughter of Richard and Eliza(Sproul)Metcalf, and sister of Frances Ellen{Metcalf}Keith.

According to census records, she lived in the David Keith household for many years, helping with the household duties. She was listed as his sister-in-law.

Miss Belle Metcalf, who has been making her home with her sister, Mrs. David Keith, died Friday from an attack of pneumonia. Deceased was born in Jackson County, Ohio January~23~1848, and came to Iowa with her mother in 1875. A year later her mother died and she then came to live with her sister, Mrs. Keith. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon in the Presbyterian Church, of which she had been a member since 1889 and interment in Buckingham Cemetery.

The obit in the paper says she died in 1913 but her tombstone says that she died in 1914.
