Linza Bush

Linza Bush, 73, Cumberland, died Jan 23, 2004, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Cumberland, he was a member of the Cloverlick Freewill Baptist Church. He was a retired coal miner of 20 years with U.S. Steel Coal Company and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys McKnight; his parents; James Bush and Lilly Estep Bush; and two brothers; Glen Bush and Gilbert Bush.

Survivors include five children: Wanda Isom and husband, Roger, London; Jeff Bush, Cumberland; Sandy Dixon and husband, Toy, Harrisburg, Ill.; Melody Bird and husband, Robert, Harrodsburg; and Dinah Day and husband, Mike, Cumberland; one brother; Junior Nease, Topeka, Kan.; three sisters; Jean Short, Kimpton, Ind.; Beaulah Holloman, Sharpsville, Ind.; and Midlred Collier, Larwill, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; Heather Thompson, Chad Dixon, Seth Dixon, Valerie Isom, Roger Isom, Cody Isom, Conner Bird, Wesley Bird, Jamie bush, Jeffrey Bush, Josh Day, Brodie Day and Morgan Day; and three great-grandchildren; Shelby Thompson, Sadie Thompson and Jada Carpenter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Cloverlick Freewill Baptist Church with Charles Sheffield and the Rev. Don McKnight officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery at Gilley Hollow.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Day & Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
