Alice M. (Osbeck) Carville, 84, formerly of 24 Massachusetts Ave., a retired registered nurse, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.

She was a private-duty nurse, and also worked at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children on Carew Street, Springfield, and other area hospitals.

She was born in Woburn, and lived here from 1944. She was graduated from Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston in 1933. She attended the First Church of Christ. Her husband, Richard P. Carville, died in 1970.

She leaves a daughter, Sandra E. Farron of Longmeadow; two granddaughters, Lisa Marie Farron and Pamela Farron-Brooks of Longmeadow, and a great-grandson.

A private graveside service will be conducted on Saturday in Longmeadow Cemetery , followed by a memorial service in the church on Saturday afternoon. There are no calling hours, and Hafey East Longmeadow Chapels is in charge.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, 01104.
