Born to William Eugene and Clemma Catherine Harp Bowman, Dorothy married Charles Raymond Mowder Sr. on July 19, 1924, in Pekin. He died Dec. 18, 1989.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, C.R. Jr. and Jack; one daughter, Virginia (Robert) Long; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step great- grandchildren; four step great- great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Hensley.

She was Havana Township assessor and served on the Mason County Board. She was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman for many years. She was a member of the Mason District Hospital Auxiliary.
