Nancy H Berry was aged 67, born in Augusta Co., Virginia to James Buchanan. On 1 Aug 1871, she died from consumption (TB) in the Riverheads Twp., Augusta Co., Virginia. She was the widow of John R Berry, Sr. Her son Jno R Berry (Jr.) was the informant. Per the 1871 Riverheads Twp., Augusta Co., Virginia Register of Deaths, line 4, unnumbered page, on Familysearch, 11 of 45.
Nancy Hughart Buchanan Berry was the wife of John R., aged 66 years (so she was born in about 1805). Source of burial here: Rockbridge County, Virginia Cemeteries, South River and Walker Creek Districts, by the Rockbridge Area Genealogical Society, 1999.
Her middle "Hughart" was used (without sources) in an article on her son Pvt James Buchanan Berry, born 1834, was the 3rd child of John Ralston and Nancy Hughart (Buchanan) Berry. Her sons John and Charles also served. Per 116th Infantry Regiment Roll of Honor, A Memorial to Those Who Served in the 116th Infantry Regiment, "The Stonewall Brigade," on 116thregimentrollofhonor (blogspot).
Other sites list her mother as Margaret Hanna, the wife of James Buchanan, so the H could be for Hanna.
