Mrs. Anna J. Johnson, 87, former Gonvick resident, died January 3, at the Fosston Hospital.

Funeral services were held January 5, at the Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick with the Reverend Don Walker officiating. Interment was made in the Samhold Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home, Bagley.

Mrs. Johnson was born September 6, 1892, in Hill River Township in Polk County, to Christian Kjos and Karoline Sandberg Kjos. She moved with her family to Gonvick as a youngster and attended school there. She was married to Charles A. Johnson April 15, 1914. The farmed north of Gonvick until 1954 when they retired and moved into Gonvick. He died in 1961, and she moved to Clearbrook in 1975.

She is survived by two daughters, Elvera Lundmark, Clearbrook, and Marilyn (Mrs. Thomas) Grettum, Torrance, California; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Kjos, Spokane, Washington.
