ROCHESTER - Ella Marie Head, 75, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 2:50 AM at St. John's Hospital.
She was born on August 25, 1935 in Springfield the daughter of John Henry and Celia Heissinger Hullmann. She married Austin Lee Head on September 26, 1953 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 2003.
Ella graduated from Rochester High School as Valedictorian and received the DAR Scholarship Award. She had worked as Executive Assistant to the President of Franklin Life Insurance Company retiring in 1993 after 31 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years and will be missed by her family and friends. She was a member of the Cherry Hills Baptist Church in Springfield and attend the Rochester Christian Church.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen W. Head in 1992, a brother Herman Hullmann, and sister, Mary Brennan.
She is survived by son, David L. (Pam) Head of Rochester; brothers, Tim (Alice) Eugene and Jim (Donna) Hullmann of Springfield; sisters, Dorothy Toland of Springfield, Betty Davis of Yelm, WA, and Christine Newingham of Kelso, WA, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the funeral home with David Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association.
