Muriel Maxine Winters died Sunday, March 22, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born November 13, 1912, to Samuel Ed and Hazel Erma Wright Preslar and grew up near Blair, OK. She married Claude Winters October 22, 1932, in Jackson County. Muriel and Claude farmed in the Lone Wolf and Chickasha areas before settling southwest of Hobart in 1942, where they raised their family and farmed until retirement in 1977. They then moved into Hobart and continued to farm on a smaller scale with lovely vegetable and flower gardens. Muriel is survived by her husband, Claude Winters, of Hobart; her children, Billy Winters and wife Marla of Battleground, WA; Joyce Pruitt and husband Jim of Hobart; Kenneth Winters and wife Betty of Skellytown, TX; Virginia Savage and husband Larry of Oklahoma City; Dana Ervin and husband Jack of Yukon; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dorthea Jennings of Ft. Worth, TX. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Mom was a great lady who lived her life with determination, strength and love. With time, the pain we now feel will become loving memories and she will live in our hearts forever.
