Brooklet - Barney S. McElveen, 71, died Sunday in the Bulloch County Hospital after an illness of several weeks. Mr. McElveen was a lifelong resident of Bulloch County. A farmer, he was a member of the Lane's Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at the Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Harold McElveen and Elder George R. Daniel. Burial will be in the Brooklet Cemetery. The body will be at the residence. Barnes Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lois Beasley McElveen; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Shurling and Mrs. Earl Hallman, both of Stilson, and Mrs. Ina Hagin, Marlow; two brothers, W. E. McElveen, Denver, Col., and C. L. McElveen, Savannah; a number of nieces and nephews.
