Mr. Bacon, a native of Norton County, Kan., died Sunday in a Mesa rest home, following a long illness. He had resided here the past 34 years and had retired as a watchman for the Salt River Valley Water Users.
Survivors include a son, Clyde of Mesa; a sister-in-law, Mrs. C.F. Scanlon of Phoenix; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
He was driving the stagecoach in 1899 from Globe to Florence when it was robbed by the "bandit queen" Pearl Hart. Pearl was aquitted of the charges of robbing the stage, but was convicted of robbing Henry Bacon and stealing his weapon.
