Rudolph Luther Faith, 98, passed away peacefully from this life on Nov. 30, 2010, at the Autumn House in Idalou, Texas.

He was born March 15, 1912 in Runge, Texas, to John Oscar and Mattie Stinnett Faith, and spent his boyhood in nearby Karnes City, where he graduated from high school. He graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in Huntsville. After teaching vocational agriculture at high schools including Hale Center, Abernathy and Lazbuddie, he farmed north of Idalou from 1941 until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement years in Granite Shoals, Texas, until poor health prompted him to return to the Lubbock area in 2005.

Mr. Faith was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lorene Uptergrove Faith; wives, Ruby Wiggins Faith and Lois Griffin Faith; and infant grandson, Christopher Bramblett.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lucille Solley of Lubbock, Evelyn Moore and husband Larry of Idalou, Anne Serkin of St. Louis, Mo., and Lane Bramblett and husband Ron of Panama City, Fla.; his grandchildren, David Moore of Pflugerville, Jerry Moore of Lubbock, Christina Conn of Dennison, Michelle McReynolds of Des Peres, Mo., Geoff Bramblett of Harrisburg, N.C., and Tonya Farris of Washington, D.C.; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Also surviving him are his sisters, Nora Kuhnel of Karnes City and Eunice Jones of San Marcos.

Mr. Faith accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. His life exemplified the virtues of honesty and industriousness, which he instilled in his children.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls, Texas, with burial to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the staff at Autumn House and Vista Care of Lubbock for their kind care and attention.
