Age 71, Aurora MO - Formerly of the Pomona area - Mrs. Shadwell died Wednesday at 11 a.m. at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1905 at Pomona, the daughter of the late William and Kathryn Playforth Wood. She had spent her early life in this area and in 1922 she was married to Pearl McCrackin. On Dec. 20, 1935 she was married to Charles C. Shadwell. She has been a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church for the past 40 years. Survivors include her husband, Charles Shadwell, three children, Max McCrackin, Warrensburg MO; Mary Pettigrew, Lincoln NE; Glen McCrackin, Kansas City MO; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Wood, Yale OK. Preceding her in death are her parents, a son, seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, with Rev. Fred Cunningham officiating.
