Age 71, Aurora MO - Formerly of the Pomona area - Mrs. Shadwell died Wednesday at 11 a.m. at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1905 at Pomona, the daughter of the late William and Kathryn Playforth Wood. She had spent her early life in this area and in 1922 she was married to Pearl McCrackin. On Dec. 20, 1935 she was married to Charles C. Shadwell. She has been a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church for the past 40 years. Survivors include her husband, Charles Shadwell, three children, Max McCrackin, Warrensburg MO; Mary Pettigrew, Lincoln NE; Glen McCrackin, Kansas City MO; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Wood, Yale OK. Preceding her in death are her parents, a son, seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, with Rev. Fred Cunningham officiating. Pallbearers were Randall Wood, Royce Burgess, Lee Wood, Kenneth Wood, Jr., Larry Wood and David Wood, Jr. Persons attending from out of the area included Terry and Karen Shipley, Harrison AR; Barbara Wilde, Lincoln NE; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Pettigrew, Lincoln NE; Patricia Walker, Pottersville MO; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wood, Afton OK; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wood and Bruce, Miller MO; Paul and Delcie Shadwell, Niangua MO; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Shadwell, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Shadwell, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wood, Lucille Toothman, all of Springfield MO; Sondra Shook, Mr. and Mrs. Les Moss, Mr. and Mrs. Glen McCrackin, all of Kansas City MO; Patricia Ann Bomar, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pettigrew, Mark Pettigrew, all of Lincoln NE; Debbie McCrackin, Grandview MO; and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Wood, Washington IL.
