Joe Minter, age 79 years old, passed away Wednesday morning at his home on Franklin Street after an illness of several months, death being due to a complication of diseases.
The deceased was a life-long citizen of Henry County, moving from Dyers Store to Martinsville several years ago. Funeral services were conducted from his late home Thursday evening.
Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Minter is survived by his wife, who was Miss Chaney Compton before marriage, and nine children, Walter, Hugh and Eric Minter, of this city; Dixon Minter of Philadelphia, and Joe Minter of Koehler, and four daughters, and one brother, J. Harden Minter of this city, besides a number of other relatives and friends.
