Statesboro, Ga. - Mr. Richard E. Yost, age 43, died on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Pontiac, Michigan, native was a graduate of Putnam High School and was a volunteer with the Putnam County Fire Department and an EMT paramedic with Forsyth County. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Gulf War as a medic. Mr. Yost moved to Bulloch County in 2004 and worked as a computer analyst, and other various jobs in the area. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Cynthia and William Reinhold of St. Mary's; his stepfather, George W. Dressler of Trenton, Mich.; two brothers, Lance R. Yost of Gautier, Miss., and George W. Dressler Jr. of Kodak, Tenn.; a maternal grandmother, Phyllis M. Trim of Engadine, Mich,.; a special friend, Mitchell M. O'Barr of Statesboro; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
The visitation will be held on Monday from noon until 1 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The graveside funeral service will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Ga.
