Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Murphy, 63, of rural Denver, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at her home.

Mrs. Murphy, a 1965 graduate of North Manchester High School, had worked as the receptionist and switchboard operator at the Miami County Courthouse for the past 20 years. She was a 36-year member of the Chili Methodist Church.

She was born March 3, 1946, in Vandalia, IL, to Walter H. and Vertis P. Waddell Little. Her father survives in New Albany. She married Lewis G. Murphy on Jan. 19, 1975, at the Chili Methodist Church. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Karri L. Brown, of Wabash; Sara Jo (James) Ege, of Washington, IL; and Lindsey E. (Chad) Bernick, of Clayton; two sisters, Darla (Dave) Gradeless, of Huntington, and Terri (Rich) Mullins, of New Albany; two brothers-in-law, Gregg Fisher, of North Manchester, and Chad (Rita) Murphy, of Denver; and eight grandchildren, Dalton R. Brown, of Peru; Dylan R. Brown and Kyleigh L. Brown, both of Wabash; Gavin Ege, Ian Ege, Keegers Ege and Suttie Joe Ege, all of Washington, IL; and Owen C. Bernick, of Clayton.

Calling is Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at McClain Funeral Home, 3500 W. Ind.-16, Denver, IN. A service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Alan Ash and Rev. Ray Probasco officiating. Burial will follow at Chili Cemetery.
