Samuel G. Anderson, 66, of Lincoln, Michigan, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 at home.

He was born Nov. 25, 1937 to James H. Anderson and Gladys M. (Atherton) Anderson in Curran, later moving with his family to Hawes Township. Mr. Anderson served in the Navy from May 2, 1956 until Nov. 12, 1957.

He married Betty Jean Bowers on Feb. 1, 1958. They resided in Traverse City for a short while before moving to Lincoln.

He was employed as a carpenter and was past commander and a member of Burger Wiedbrauk VFW Post 8135.

Surviving were his wife, Betty Anderson; a daughter, Cindy (Dale) McAlpine of Kansas; three sons, Timothy of Lincoln, Kerry (Christine) of Caro and Mike (Kathy) of Lincoln; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Ollie Betterton of Decatur, Ala.; a brother, James (Eula) Anderson of Lincoln; four step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; and a step great-great grandchild.
