Born Aug. 3, 1915, in Orange, N.J., he was the son of Graham D. and Genevieve Smith de Rosset.
He grew up in Dunellen, N.J., and graduated from Boundbrook High School, Boundbrook, N.J.
He was saved in 1935 during his freshman year of college, again in 1937 and felt the call to become a missionary. He graduated from Bryan College in Dayton Tenn., with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He also attended the National Bible Institute of New York and Grace Seminary in Winoma Lake, Ind.
Mr. de Rosset was ordained by the Rev. Norman Hirschy at the First Baptist Church of Evans City, where he was a lifetime member, on Feb. 23, 1942.
He married Joyce I. Hirschy Aug. 5, 1941, at the First Baptist Church; and they began their career together as missionaries under the Baptist Mid-Missions of Cleveland. Their work was characterized by the stencils on the crates being sent back and forth to South America: "Missionary Expeditor." They were missionaries in Peru from 1944 until their retirement in 1987. While serving in Peru, they founded six churches and were among the founders of a seminary in Trujillo, Peru.
