AMOS G. BLACK
Of Claysburg RD, died this morning, Oct. 8, 1977, at 6 a.m. in Bedford County Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. Mr. Black was a retired farmer. He was born Nov. 20, 1889, in Greenfield Township, Blair County, a son of Jeremiah and Ellen (Musselman) Black, and on Dec. 24, 1912, married M. Alberta Walter, who died June 8, 1970. Surviving are three children, Kenneth of Claysburg RD, Mrs. Dora Ickes of Osterburg RD and Janet M. of West Orange, N.J.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister and a brother, Mrs. Martha Knisely and Chester R. of Claysburg RD. Mr. Black was a life member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg, and he represented Friends Cove Fire Insurance Co. for 20 years. He also served Kimmel Township, Bedford County, as a supervisor for 32 years. Friends will be received in the Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

BLACK -- Services for Amos G. Black of Claysburg RD will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg, by the Rev. Robert T. Zuch. Interment following in the Alto-Reste Burial Park. Friends will be received in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
